Thats right, KU will lose to Kansas St. in Bramblage Coliseum AKA "The sorriest looking arena in college basketball". Lets take a look at what has happend since the last KSU win at home vs. KU in 1983...

Weekly Preview:Eli's Coming....yea that Eli.

Once the 47 yard field goal by Lawerence Tynes went through, we knew the giants were headed to the Super Bowl but what we were all shocked and for some still shocked is the QB that is leading them there, Eli Manning.
When the Giants played the pats in December the giants had nothing to play for other than inprovement in their playoff seeding. Tom Coughlin went after the undeafeated Patriots and almost pulled of the biggest upset in NFL history, only if it wasnt for a couple of missed assignments that New England scored on. I believe that Eli grew up that game, he dominated in Tampa, he made TO cry and ruinned Brett Favre's dream season. Can he beat Bill Belicheck and Tom Brady?? well vegas gives them no chance, they are a 14 underdog. If I were a betting man, I would take the giants to cover...

2. Duke @ Va. Tech, Thursday-ESPN-(Duke has struggled here in the past, there could be a repeat)

4. UConn @ Indiana, Saturday-CBS-(UConn comes in rolling, Indiana has cruised so far, this should be a good game)

Weekly Preview:Three's A Crowd...

A week into conference play and we now have three teams that are still safe from defeat. Kansas, North Carolina and Memphis are all no.1 seeds as of right now and look to be heading straight for the final four, but will they still be undefeated??. Kansas is probably the most talented, North Carolina is the most proven and Memphis has the most to prove.
Memphis has the easiest road by playing in Conference USA and they're only mid season test will come versus Tennessee on Feb. 23rd. They do have potential trap games at Houston and UAB but they should fly through those pretty easily.
If I had to award a "Best team in the Regular season" award Kansas would get it every year, but we dont have awards like that, thank god. Kansas has everything in front of them right now, a top team, good quality wins and most importantly good coaching. The biggest thing for them is putting it together in march, we all know how they great they have done in March. The Tar Heels showed on saturday why their No. 1 ranking is safe and secure. While they had a 25-0 run versus NCST, they just played solid defense and put together great transition offense (2 keys to winning a national title). The only thing stopping them from going undefeated, a 4 letter word....DUKE.

Andrew's Top 5 Games this week

1. USC@UCLA, Saturday-(OJ v. K-Love, enought said)
2. Georgetown@Pittsburgh, Monday-(A preview of the Big East Title game?)
3. Gonzaga@Pepperdine, Monday-(No school the next day=A great nightcap to Big Monday)
4. Kansas@Missouri, Saturday-(If anything like football, this should be fun)
5. North Carolina @ Georgia Tech-(GT always shows up in this showdown)

It's offical, Ohio St. is the SEC's Bitch

I have a true respect for Ohio St. football, but right now that is being challenged as once again they disappointed the Buckeye faithful by getting beat by another SEC team again. They stated out fine, Chris "Beanie" Wells had a 65 yard run and they went up 10-0 with a field goal. Thats when LSU woke up and came back with a 24-0 run to end the half. In the second half the tigers continued to pound away with long sustained drives and by the time it was 31-10 people were going out of the Superdome and heading to the parking lot. LSU ended up winning, but there is more to this than people think. Once again OSU disappoints and the Big Ten is blasted by the SEC again.
Jim Tressel, AKA "sweater vest" gave his team a dvd that had ten minutes of negative footage towards his team from the talking heads around the country Including me (Just kidding). They had a whole year to remember what happened last time they were in a national title game and do you know what they learned...NOTHING!!!!. The Big Ten should be embarssed by what they have become, ESPN's Kirk Herbstriet said that the Big 10, in the fans eyes is around the Conference USA/MAC level. I know that sounds far fetched but it might be true, here's how I see the top BCS conferences (1. SEC, 2. PAC 10, 3. Big 12, 4. ACC, 5. Big East, 6. Big 10). The Big 10 needs to look at themselves in the mirror and and think what do they need to do. Not just with Ohio St. but with the other ten teams in the 11 team conference. Here are some thing I have thought about...

1. Bring another team into the conference (i.e. Notre Dame, I know it's impossible but wortha shot)
2. Schedule tougher games across the board (No App. St, or Youngstown St.)
3. Play a conference championship game (Same thing for the Pac 10 and Big East)
4. Move out of the 20th century (People pass the ball now and they have things called recivers, know how to use one of these)

Thats the only advice I can give them...but since the season is over. Time to reveal my "Unoffical AP top 25 voting ballot"

Kansas won, but the system lost....

Watching the game last night I was very impressed by what Kansas did to beat Virgina Tech in the Oranges Bowl, but the system was the biggest loser and has been throughout this BCS. This years version of the BCS has shown us that going soft is the way to go and if you play the bottom of the barrel you will be rewarded with a shot at the BCS. A couple of years ago, Mark Mangino lost to texas and after the game he said that the BCS played a factor in the loss. I have a strong feeling that after this season McGino probably wants to rethink his thoughts on the BCS. He got around the system and won he figured if Texas, Oklahoma and Texas Tech aren't on the schedule, lets put every bottom feeder we can on our 07 schedule. Kansas is not the only one has done it this Ohio St. and Hawaii cupcaked there way to the BCS. Ohio St. probably was alot worse in there 07 Non-con Schedule, teams like Youngstown st. KentSt. and Akron go the buckeyes ready for the big 10. Once they got into Big 10 play they face and Illinois and got lost. Hawaii, who played absolutely nobody got rolled up by Georgia.

If I was in Charge Of Ku and Hawaii's Schedule for next season it would go like this, I would keep the Conference Schedules the same but I would make up Non-Conference schedules.

    My Thoughts on the Holidays...

First off happy holidays, I know I'm late but who gives a shit. The past two weeks have given us alot to talk about on The Andrew Hammond Show, but butler is on winter break right now so I cannot be on the air. If the show did go on, we could possibly have a 4 hour show with all of the good stuff that happened since mid-december.

Most of you reading this are in the state of Kansas so I will say this one more time, Kansas Will get Killed by Va. Tech in the Orange Bowl. One to my thoughts ...

Right now Memphis is the No. 1 Team in the country, they're reward for a brutal non-conference schedule, C-USA. You gotta Love it.

The LA Lakers didnt need to wear the old school booty shorts vs the Boston Celtics, that set basketball back forty years.

Speaking of setting things back, The Jets-Chiefs game set Football back 80 years. While they were in that boat race, they of called Red Grange or Jim Thorpe and see if they wanted to get in on action.

Dec. 31 of 2007 was they perfect way to describe the college football season, it aint over till its over.

It must suck to be from or associated with the city of Cleveland.

Props to the NE Patriots for going undefeated throughout the season, but it doesn't matter if they dont win a super bowl.

Lloyd Carr stuck it to all of the anti-Carr movement by beating Florida in the Capitol One Bowl, with Rich Rodriguez standing less than 100 feet away.

Rick Neuhisel going to UCLA, hey Rick, are you going to have an NCAA Tournament Pool? If so. then I'm in.

Tim Tebow cannot win the big game, period.

Brian Billick's status as a genius is under review. I do like Troy Smith being the QB of the Ravens Future though, I see shades of Donovan McNabb.

Wichita St. is going to have a Long season, and I mean Looooonnnnnggggg.....

KU and UNC basketball, very questionable right now. Bill self and Roy Williams, you need to play teams that will get you ready for March. Not Penn, Ohio and Loyola. This College Basketball not debate..
