SEC Conference Preview

Ok Ladies and Gents can anyone tell me what conference has the heisman winner, national champion, two schools that face off more in the courtroom than they do on a football field? It's the SEC!!! 2007 could be described as crazy and dramatic but there is no way that it can be topped, or can it??

This gets my vote of most akward game of the year, Houston Nutt used to coach at Arkansas where Bobby Petrino coaches now, feeling akward yet??

Here's Carson!!!!!

In an interview with "The Petros and Money Show" on AM 570 in Los Angeles, Palmer threw Jim "The Sweater Vest" Tressel and the Ohio St. Program under the bus in anticipation of the September showdown with USC. Palmer fired the opening salvo in what should a nice media battle until kickoff, knowingly that he's gonna take some serious heat for it. The Heisman trophy winner from 2002 got off these "Touching" and "Caring" lines...
"I cannot stand the Buckeyes".....
"Having to live in Ohio, and hear what those fans have to say about their team drives me nuts"....
"I just cant wait for them (Ohio St.) to come to the coliseum and get an old fashioned butt whipping"....
As an observer to this mess that Palmer put himself in, I honestly believe that he (Palmer) is the last person who should be saying something or talking crap on another school. If you children remeber Carson Palmer stole the 2002 Heisman (Picture Above) from Miami's Ken Dorsey. For some reason Carson forgot that he's a resident of the state of Ohio and is only less than 100 miles away from..you guessed it Ohio State!!! I would just hope that if Ohio St. does win, Carson isnt on High St. in Columbus that night.

Big 12 Conference Preview

Ok, a quick history lesson for you football fans out there. Before the 2007-08 season, what year did Kansas and Missouri finish 1 and 2 in conference? Anyone....Anyone, it was 1909 while both teams were apart of the Missouri Valley Conference. I dont think that 08-09 will give us a repeat of the 07-08 season, besides KU and MU going to war over the North Division the were many other highlights. Colorado showed that they are a program that is on the rise, Kansas St.'s Jordy Nelson became one of the best WR's to come out of the Big 12 in years. There was also the "Oscar Worthy" preformance by Oklahoma St.'s Mike Gundy. If you dont remember here it is http://youtube.com/watch?v=aoMmbUmKN0E

5 Best Players
Michael Crabteree (Texas Tech)
Chase Daniel (Missouri)
Chase Coffman (Missouri)

Beau Johnson (Oklahoma St.)

Nebraska at Oklahoma (Nov. 1)
It's a old school rivalry but if Nebraska wins this game, they will make a statement to the nation that the big red was back.
Kansas St. at Kansas (Nov. 1)
This is Judgement day for the Ron Prince career. A win and he stays. a loss and....
Kansas at Oklahoma (Oct. 18)
Kansas played the soft side of the conference a year ago, this time a return trip to the BCS wont be so easy.

Overrated/Underrated Who Makes what list

A couple of days ago, my cousin and I were having a serious discussion over Tim Tebow and how he reminds me of Brady Quinn by being on the cover of every follege football magazine to start the year. It got me thinking and I started to realize the Tim Tebow is overrated, I know he has a Heisman Trophy but he's just Eric Crouch with a better arm. Then as I was making my case to my cousin Jordan, I was thinking about who, what and in the world of college football is overrated and underrated???

Overrated

Pre Season Magazines-It's not that I dont like them, but can you give me some variety on picking the top team to start the season.

Doug Flutie's Hail Mary-The final play was nice I get that, but Miami was not that good of a team that season, if it was the Irvin, Perriman and Walsh Hurricanes that game would not be on my list. Boston College beat a middle of the road Miami squad, enough said.

Bo Schembechler-Bo may he rest in peice, might have the legendary/iconic status but If you had to rank the top 10 coaches he wont make my list. Woody Hayes and Bo had good battles in the 70's but after Woody left OSU, Bo couldnt take over the conference as many expected

Cal-Stanford "The Play"-Yep, I went there. We all know what happens, Cal takes the kickoff back after making an endless amount of laterals then stick it in the Cardinal by running over the Trombone player. What people forget is the previous drive by Stanford and John Elway, Elway converted on fourth down deep in his own territory to capture the lead but Kevin Moen and Cal ruined that the next play

Underrated

The Pac-10-America needs to remember this conference before USC took over this decade, the Pac 10 was very good in the 90's and into the early 2000's. (See Joey Harrington, Marques Tuiasosopo, Danny O'neil and Abdul-Karim al-Jabbar)

Black College Football-This is something else that america needs to wake up to, NFL Hall of Famers and Super Bowl MVP's have played at this level. Take a look at the start of the season, while you Texas fans are watching the horns thrash some no-name school Grambling St. and Hampton will be in action showcasing their talent on various ESPN networks

Nebraska-Penn St in 1982-This was a game between two top 10 teams and went back and fourth until a late Todd Blackledge TD that was actually out of bounds costs Tom Osborne a shot at a national title, and who played in the title game that year....Penn St.

Big Ten Conference Preview

No team, and no coaches' reputation has fallen off the face of the earth more than Michigan and Rich Rodriguez. Rodriguez left West Virgnia to go to his "Dream Job". None the less, his first year has already gotten off on the wrong foot (Tyrell Pryor spurned michigan for the Rival, Ryan Mallett left and a key O-Lineman transfers to Ohio St.). Good Luck fans of the Maize and Blue, you are rewarded with playing Ohio St. in Columbus, Purdue and Illinois all this year.
5 Best Players
James Laurinatis (Ohio St.)
Chris Wells (Ohio St.)
Juice Williams (Illinois)
Brian Robiskie (Ohio St.)
P.J. Hill (Wisconsin)
3 Players to pay attention to
Curtis Painter (Purdue)
Tyrell Pryor (Ohio St.)
Brian Hoyer (Michigan St.)
Coach on the hot seat
Kirk Ferentz (Iowa)
3 Games to Watch in 08-09
Michigan at Notre Dame (Sept. 13)
This is an early season test for Michigan and could give an indication on how the season will go
Ohio St. at Illinois (Nov. 15)
The Fighting Illini pulled off a shocker in 07, they actually have a better shot to repeat that again
Michigan at Ohio St.
If Rodriguez wins in Columbus versus Sen. Jim Tressell, all of Ann Arbor Will for get the past 11 games
Conference Predictions
1.Ohio St
2.Illinois
3.Wisconsin
4.Penn St.
5.Michigan St.
6.Michigan
7.Purdue
8.Iowa
9.Minnesota
10.Indiana

ACC Conference Preview

In what most analysts might call a down year for the ACC, I saw it as a conference in the middle of a power shift. Boston College and Virgina Tech were top dog along with an unproven Clemson team. This Season could be the Tigers year as they will finally make a strong run at the ACC title. The only thing stopping them is Wake Forest and Florida St.

5 Best players
CJ Spiller (Clemson)
Josh Adams (Wake Forest)
James Davis (Clemson)
Vance Walker (Ga. Tech)
Patrick Robinson (FSU)

3 players to pay attention to in 08-09
Markus White (FSU)
Arthur Brown (Miami)
Cullen Harper (Clemson)

Coach on the hot seat
Ralph Fridgen (Maryland)

3 Biggest Games
Clemson at Wake Forest (October 9)
The winner of this game will most likely win the Atlantic Division.

Florida St. at Miami (October 4)
Two teams trying to climb back to the top, and plus it's FSU-Miami!!!

North Carolina at Va. Tech (September 20)
The young and talented Heels can make a statement to the nation with a huge road win.

Conference Predictions
Atlantic Division
1. Clemson
2. Wake Forest
3. Florida St.
4. Boston College
5. Maryland
6. NC State

Coastal Division
1. North Carolina
2. Va. Tech
